At a Glance:
To better serve the region, the Coopersville-Polkton Township Fire Station was developed as a joint initiative between two municipalities, replacing aging facilities with a single, purpose-built fire and emergency response station. This project brings together resources, personnel, and operations under one roof to improve efficiency and response times.
The new 14,800-square-foot facility is organized to clearly separate operational and support functions. The apparatus bay area is constructed with durable masonry and features glass overhead doors, providing both long-term performance and improved visibility for daily operations. Adjacent to this, the personnel wing incorporates a modern combination of brick and glass, creating a professional and welcoming environment for staff.
Inside, the station is equipped with dedicated training spaces, administrative offices, locker rooms, and a day room, supporting both emergency readiness and day-to-day operations. The apparatus bays include high-performance exhaust extraction systems to maintain air quality, along with designated areas for equipment storage and maintenance.
This project represents a forward-thinking approach to fire station design and public safety construction, delivering a facility that enhances collaboration, supports first responders, and meets the evolving needs of the communities it serves.
