At a Glance:

As part of a busy summer construction season in 2022, West Ottawa High School completed a new secure entry addition designed to enhance campus safety and improve visitor management. This K-12 school security upgrade focused on creating a controlled access point at the west entrance of the building while maintaining a modern, welcoming appearance.

The project features a striking two-story glass curtain wall system, allowing for increased visibility and natural light while clearly defining the main point of entry. Integrated secured access doors provide controlled entry into the building, supporting enhanced safety protocols for students, staff, and visitors.

Inside the new vestibule, a dedicated security desk and monitoring area allows school personnel to manage access, screen visitors, and maintain oversight of the entrance. The design balances security, functionality, and aesthetics, creating a space that is both protective and inviting.

This project reflects a growing emphasis on school safety and secure entry construction, delivering a modern solution that aligns with best practices in K-12 facility design and access control systems.
