Following the completion of Phase I renovations, construction at Brookwood Elementary School continued in 2021 with a significant school addition and renovation project designed to expand and enhance the facility. The project included a 7,300-square-foot gymnasium addition, a 500-square-foot commercial kitchen addition, and 5,664 square feet of interior renovations to the existing building to support the updated layout.

The new gymnasium, completed in October 2022, marked the final phase of the project and provides a modern, multi-use space for physical education and school events. Additional improvements include new student restrooms and four meeting rooms/offices, located along the corridor connecting the existing building to the new gym.

Site enhancements were also completed, including a reconfigured playground layout with new equipment and upgraded hard surfaces to create a safer, more functional outdoor environment for students.

As part of the renovation, the existing gymnasium was transformed into a cafeteria and dining space, supported by the newly constructed kitchen. The upgraded kitchen features a walk-in freezer, dedicated food preparation areas, and a serving line, allowing the school to operate as a full-service food provider. The cafeteria also includes audio and visual capabilities, making it a flexible space for student gatherings, events, and community use.

This project highlights a comprehensive approach to K-12 school construction, combining additions, renovations, and site improvements to create a more functional, modern learning environment.
