At a Glance:

This Kentwood Public Schools project established a new standard for learning labs and collaborative classroom environments, transforming traditional classrooms into a flexible, multi-functional educational space. The K-12 renovation project involved removing walls between four existing classrooms to create one large, open-concept learning and collaboration center designed to support modern teaching methods and student engagement.

The newly combined space features a dedicated stage area with a whiteboard wall, providing a focal point for presentations, instruction, and group collaboration. Each learning zone within the space is equipped with integrated technology, allowing student work and presentations to be displayed on a central projection screen, enhancing visibility and interaction.

To further support a dynamic learning environment, the space includes 10 flat-screen displays, enabling multiple groups to work simultaneously and share content. A thoughtfully designed lounge area was also incorporated to reflect a corporate-style work environment, encouraging collaboration, creativity, and real-world learning experiences.

This project highlights an innovative approach to classroom renovation and educational space design, combining open-concept layouts, integrated technology, and flexible learning environments to support the evolving needs of students and educators.
