At a Glance:

Following the impacts of the 2020 pandemic, Hamilton Early Childhood Center—formerly known as Hamilton Elementary—closed as the district restructured student enrollment and building utilization. In 2021, planning began for a comprehensive school renovation and expansion project, focused on transforming the existing facility into a modern Early Childhood Center designed to serve a new generation of students.

By the end of 2023, construction drawings were finalized and work began on this multi-million dollar K-12 construction project, which included a significant Early Childhood Center addition (28,980 square feet) along with renovations to the existing building. The project was carefully designed to support Preschool through 5th grade students, creating a cohesive, age-appropriate learning environment.

This multi-phase school transformation spanned several years and included evolving design concepts to meet the district’s long-term goals. The completed facility features updated classrooms, modern learning spaces, and improved building systems to support early childhood education and elementary instruction.

The project was successfully completed in time for the 2025–2026 school year, welcoming students back into a fully reimagined educational environment. This transformation highlights a strategic approach to school renovation, expansion, and adaptive reuse, delivering a high-quality facility tailored to the needs of both students and educators.
