Pine Creek Elementary in West Ottawa Public Schools received a significant remodel to the classrooms, corridors, offices and media center. This 2020/2021 project required selective demo to these spaces. Each classroom, corridor and office area received new LED lighting and new exterior windows.
New carpet was installed throughout the classrooms, corridors, library, and cafeteria. The remodel also included a complete painting package of the walls, door frames, accent stripes and lockers throughout the entire school. New key card access hardware was installed on all interior doors and new audio/PA speakers and fire alarms were installed in each space.
One of the biggest parts of this project was installing a new HVAC system. Because of the size of the equipment needed to accommodate the entire school, a portion of the roof had to be removed so the unit could be lowered into place as it would not fit through any doorway. The old boiler system also had to be replaced with a new one that would be connected to a new geothermal system.
The next phase of this project is a two classroom addition. Construction for that began in October 2021 and is set to be completed in August 2022.
